Jack Rubio (Producer/Director) - Growing up on the tough streets of Los Angeles, Jack found his life's calling studying with the renowned Stella Adler. A multi talented individual, Mr. Rubio has worn many hats including that of veteran actor, feature film director and die hard producer of independent films.
Jack made his feature directing debut with the award winning independent film Hard Luck starring Kirk Harris (Intoxicating, My Sweet Killer), Renee Humphrey (Fun, Devil in a Blue Dress) and Karen Black (Five Easy Pieces, Nashville). As an actor, Jack has appeared in dozen films including starring in the award winning theatrically released feature film loser starring Harris and Peta Wilson (La Femme Nikita, A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). Additionally, Jack starred and produced the theatrically released psychological thriller My Sweet Killer. Jack was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor at the Method Fest Film Festival for his role as "Buck" in the film, a kind former felon. With a friendship that began in a Los Angeles area boxing gym, Jack formed the independent production company FilmKitchen with partner Harris. Jack was one of the producers on Mark David's sophomore feature film Intoxicating starring Harris, John Savage and Eric Roberts. The film is currently in theatrical release in markets around the United States. Additionally, after launching at Cannes the film has been sold to among others Germany, Italy, Australia, and Canada (among fifteen territories). Most recently Jack produced the independent feature film Distortion along side Frank Donner. |
